| To avoid spinal cord injury (paraplegia/paraparesis) after thoracoabdominal aortic repair, we have sought to find Adamkiewicz artery angiographycally before operation. However, it seems sometimes invasive, cumbersome, and time-consuming. Therefore we have tried to visualize Adamkiewicz artery using multi-detector computer tomography. | |

Clinically, visceral perfusion during thoracoabdominal aortic repair seems to have a beneficial effect on spinal cord protection, however, it has not been proven. We sought to analyze S-100 protein, inflammatory cytokines, and excitatory amino acids in the cerebrospinal fluid to prove it. | |
