Lab rotations are organized in a weekly rhythm. Each topic is accompanied by a lecture series (scheduled Monday 8:00-9:30 a.m. und 1:00-3:30 p.m.). Practical courses and tutorials are from Tuesday to Friday. Advanced PhD-students and post-docs will advise the newcomers, to provide maximal assistance. The qualification period is mandatory and is intended to provide students with a sound theoretical background. It ends in July with written and oral examinations (week 10). Participation in the training is certified. If the demand for financial aid is justified the program will support students during the training period with respect to costs for accommodation in a student dormitory, living (max. 400 €/month) and travel (max. 700 €). Successful candidates with excellent results during the training qualify for admission to a 2.5-year PhD-project in one of the participating research groups.
