History of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery in Homburg/Saar
In October 1991, Prof. Dr. Emmeram Gams became the new director of the department. Under his leadership the number of procedures increased to 800 procedures with extracorporeal ciculation and over 1000 procedures per year total. In 1995 Prof. Gams moved to the Heinrich-Heine University in Düsseldorf.
