One main area of the scientific and clinical work of the Department of Neurosurgery is the optimization and development of minimally invasive surgical techniques in cranial and spinal neurosurgery. Special focus is placed on new endoscopic procedures and techniques, as well as the advancement of existing endoscopic procedures. The goal is - by enhancing surgical methods - to improve long-term outcome of neurosurgical operations. Pathological findings likewise can be better illustrated during the operation.
