Brain Tumors

Brain tumors

Under the vague clinical term "brain tumors" all tumors lying within the central nervous system of the skull are summarized. The World Health Organization (WHO) distinguishes more than 130 subtypes according to their growth behavior, their cellular origin and cell composition. These so-called primary brain tumors are relatively rare; most often are meningiomas, pituitary tumors and glioblastomas. As secondary brain tumors, however, are defined metastases in the brains of non-CNS cancers.
