A clinical study group at my department focuses on clinical studies including phase I-III clinical trials and observational studies.
We established a national registry for alpha-1-antitrypsin-deficiency that is one of the largest in the world.
The establishment of the COSYCONET cohort allows deep insight in the development and natural biology of COPD . We run the COSYCONET biobank with more than 150.000 samples.
That is an important tool for the translation of clinical information into basic scientific questions and reverse. The focus of our group is on biomarker analysis and integration of genetic, epigenetic, and microbiome data with clinical datasets.
Within our study center we perform clinical trials phase I-III(IV).
