About us

Centre of Molecular Radiotherapy, Dep. of Nuclear Medicine

The team of the Nuclear Medicine Department is focused on delivering targeted therapies and theranostics to advanced cancer patients. Treatment requests are being processed in a professional and fast manner.

The department has become one of the leading targeted treatment centres worldwide including targeted alpha- and tandem (alpha/beta tandem) radionuclide therapy approaches.

We hope that the planned treatment will improve your health status and lead to sustained support of your immune system to combat your cancer.

The patient rooms of the RN01 Therapy Unit at our department have normal windows (to be opened by the patient) and beds, sanitary facilities as well as television, telephone and internet access. You should not expect luxurious suites but functional accomodation for your 2-3 days hospital stay.

Most patients are pleasantly surprised by the entire stay, as they neither feel the constraints of an isolation during the treatment nor are "bothered" by unpleasant accompanying examinations.

However, the strict radiation protection regulations applicable in Germany make an isolated hospital stay necessary due to the radiation component. The special measures, which are necessary to comply with the strict radiation protection regulations, work unnoticed by our patients. This involves a separate waste water disposal system to collect all excretion.

10 nurses and 4 physicians on the treatment unit are taking care of the targeted therapy patients, the physicist is responsible for radiation protection and technical physical care.
